Best People Attraction Model

Working and experimenting for over 10 years on the best way how to attract clients I have created a model. This model can help you to stop chasing clients and start client attraction for your business.

Self employed

For the last 4 years I have focused on the self-employed or independent professionals in my business. Professionals in what they do and they work independently. They run their own business.

I love working with these entrepreneurs. They want to move forward, they are willing to change, want to grow/improve, and make decisions.

Thus the model works best for the self-employed, the independent professional or the solopreneur. You are for example a trainer, coach, speaker, author, mentor, consultant.

What are you struggling with

When people subscribe to my newsletter I ask two questions in a follow up mail.
1. What is your expertise
2. What are you struggling with

The things that my subscribers are struggling with the most are:

  • I do not have enough clients. How can I get more clients?
  • How do I use Facebook, Twitter or LinkedIn to get more clients?
  • I want to become more visible. How do I do that?
  • How does it all work, weblog, newsletter, social media.

So they want more clients, more business!

Chasing potential clients

Trying to get new clients the self-employed often fall back to the basics. We know about direct mail, advertising and cold calling. We see everybody doing it, so it must work. And it does.

But, and the big BUT here is, the percentage of success. It is really low.

Then after the cold calling you need to follow up. You will visit potential clients personally. After each meeting you will create a quote with the information you got from the meeting.

A lot of work and much time is spend on the road.

Also you will meet a lot of people that are interested in a quote, knowledge, your company. But they are not really interested in giving you the order.

You are chasing potential customers.

Clients Attraction

What if you get emails and calls of people that want to work with you. They found you. No chasing needed, they just call you.

What if you could inform people about their problem and help them with the solution they are looking for.

And if you could do this online you will be spending a lot more time with the family.

Attracting the best People Model

So this is the model I have created for attracting the best people. The best people can be looked at in different ways. You can think of clients, customers, leads, suppliers, vendors, partners, freelancers, Virtual Assistants…

For me it is mostly about Client Attraction, attracting the right client. Attract Your Ideal Client.

1. Choosing Your Target Audience

Step 2, 3 and 4 are basically my first book, Attracting Clients published in 2009. While writing my second book Choosing your target audience, for the last 2 years, I came to the conclusion that the 3 steps are missing one crucial preceding step.

The circle with steps 2,3 and 4 works. It is a lot of fun to do. You meet great people. You learn a lot. But one important thing that was missing, clients. Correction, Ideal Clients. I did not attract my ideal client.

The crucial step that was missing is: you need to define or choose your target audience. Who do you want to attract? Who will be your paying client?
Choose!

2. Let people find you on the Web

Build your Hub. Your hub is the place on the web where you direct your target audience. For me it is a combination of your website and weblog.

It is a place where you can post articles easily and where people can find your products and services. Via the articles people find your information in the search engines.

They read an interesting article of you and maybe one or two more. They want to stay informed of your writings.

3. Keep in contact with your audience

So people landed on your website via the search engine and they want to read more of you in the future. They really do. Make it easy for the visitors to receive this information from you.

Let people subscribe to your newsletter and let them follow your updates via their inbox.
For you the newsletter is a great way to keep in contact with your target audience when you want.

It is the number ONE thing that you want your visitors to do on a website. Or even better, that you want your target audience to do.

When you are launching a new product or service, you can send them a message and inform your subscribers about it.

So a newsletter is something that your audience wants and it is something that you need.

4. In the center of your audience

The real time media or social media is where your audience already is. They are already on social network sites like Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter.

You will just have to find out where they hang out and go there too. This is were you listen to what they are talking about. You listen to their problems and help them solve this issue.

People will learn about your expertise in the environment they hang out. Don´t sell, just listen, engage and support.

When you help, you send an update and include a link to the article in your blog that exactly describes the problem and the solution. Don´t have an article yet on this topic? Congratulations, you just found inspiration for a new post that will help your target audience.

Now you have a continuous circle.
People will go to your posts. They will read it and want to subscribe to your newsletter because of your expertise and they trust you. They will spread your posts on the social network sites.

Balance in Entrepreneurship and family

Slowly more and more people are coming to your Hub and are reading your newsletter and your updates in their social networks. They learn from you and want to learn even more than you can offer in an update or a post.

They want to learn from you personally or want to buy your products because they trust you.

You are attracting clients. Your ideal client.

You create products and services that your target audience needs. You know this, because you have been listening to what they want in the social networks. You research what they are looking for in the search engines. This is why they are coming to your blog.

The clients will buy more from you and you will get more clients.

This all will result in what is in the centre of the model. Balance. A better Balance in Entrepreneurship and Family.

You are more at home, attract more clients, your ideal clients. Less stress for you will result in less stress for the family.

What do you think about this model?
